Are your products pregnancy and breastfeeding safe?
Although we take great care to avoid ingredients that are potentially harmful when developing our formulas, we highly recommend that you speak to your physician about using Valmont or any other products on your skin during pregnancy and when breastfeeding.
Are your products cruelty free?
We do not test our products on animals. However, some countries such as China require animal testing on all beauty and cosmetic goods destined for sale in their country in compliance with their health and safety regulations. In such cases, the governing body of said country performs those tests, not Valmont.
Are Valmont products vegan?
A portion of our products are vegan, however others contain ingredients of animal origin, such as DNA or collagen. We always select our active ingredients for the best efficiency on your skin.
Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?
Our products are developed for use on all skin types, however if you are prone to allergic reactions or have other dermatological issues, please:
• consult the list of product ingredients before use
• patch test a small area of your skin, ideally your inner forearm, and monitor for reactions
• ask your physician or dermatologist for advice
If you ever experience discomfort or undesirable reactions with any skincare product, discontinue use immediately.
Where do I find a product’s expiry date and information on their shelf life?
Being a Swiss-based company, Valmont adheres to European regulations regarding product shelf life. As such, rather than an expiry date, we are under the obligation to provide a PAO (Period After Opening) that indicates for how long a product is safe to use after it has been opened. The PAO of our products is generally between 3 to 36 months and is displayed on the open jar pictogram.
How do I check the authenticity of Valmont products?

Can I use your products with microcurrent devices such as Ziip?
Microcurrent devices help with the penetration of products based on their electric charge (polarity). As we cannot know which polarity any particular device works with, we do not recommend using them with Valmont products.
Why do you add fragrance to your products?
We use fragrance in our products primarily to:
1. Enhance your sensory experience and enjoyment of use
2. Create unique and recognizable product identities with signature scents
3. Mask the naturally occurring and sometimes unpleasant odors of certain cosmetic ingredients

Our alpine garden is situated in Sembrancher, Valais, in the heart of the Swiss Alps.
Where does your glacial spring water come from?
We source our glacial spring water from the Arolla Glacier in the canton of Valais, Switzerland.
FRAGRANCES
What is the difference between eau de toilette, eau de parfum and extrait de parfum?
Eau de toilette, eau de parfum, and extrait de parfum are terms used to classify different concentrations or strengths of fragrance, their relative intensity and longevity of scent.
• Eau de toilette contains a lower concentration of aromatic compounds, usually ranging from 5% to 15%. Due to its lighter composition, eau de toilette has a moderate trail (the projection of the scent) and shorter longevity on the skin.
• Eau de parfum contains a higher concentration of aromatic compounds, generally ranging from 15% to 20%. It offers a more intense scent and trail than eau de toilette and can last several hours on the skin.
• Extrait de parfum (also known as parfum, perfume, or pure perfume) is the highest concentration of fragrance with a percentage of aromatic compounds generally ranging between 20% to 40%. An intense and long-lasting fragrance experience, it boasts a potent trail that can linger for many hours.
What is the difference between top, middle and base notes?
Fragrances are typically composed of multiple scent components that work together to create a complex olfactory experience, the overall scent profile and character of a perfume. The initial burst of top notes evolves into the heart notes, which eventually give way to the lingering base notes.
• Top notes provide the first impression of a fragrance. They are the most volatile and typically last for around 15 minutes to 2 hours after application. These notes are often fresh, bright, and uplifting.
• Heart notes or middle notes emerge as the top notes begin to dissipate, forming the "heart" of the fragrance, the main body or theme of the perfume. More balanced and moderately volatile, lasting for several hours after application, they serve to harmonize a fragrance’s composition and provide depth and character.
• Base notes are the foundation of a fragrance and develop once the heart notes have settled. They have the lowest volatility and linger on the skin, sometimes persisting for hours or even days. Providing depth, richness, and longevity, they help fix the fragrance to the skin and create a lasting impression.

Certain products, including perfumes and products containing sturgeon DNA, cannot be returned. This information appears on the relevant product information sheets and in your cart.
To be eligible for a return, orders must meet the following conditions:
- Products must be unopened and in perfect condition
- The order must be complete, including any gifts and samples you have received (otherwise you will be charged for their value)
- You have 30 days from when you receive your order to initiate a return, and 14 days after that to return the items.

Can I return an online purchase to one of your stores and vice versa?
Products must be returned to their original place of purchase as each of our sales channels, online and in store, manages its stock individually. We apologize for the inconvenience.
