Commitment as
an Art de Vivre
At Valmont, Corporate Social Responsibility is not an option—it is a core commitment that shapes everything we do.
This belief is reflected in an integrated and transparent approach, driven by the conviction that the long-term success of our ecosystem is inseparable from environmental preservation. Going beyond simple environmental risk management, we bring you a vision of cosmetic excellence aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.
Our CSR policy
We harness the full potential of nature’s benefits to enhance your skin. From responsibly sourced ingredients to the naturality of our formulas, from local partnerships to eco-design, our creations combine excellence and environmental preservation, without compromise.
We inspire positive actions through art and solidarity. With the precious support of Fondation Valmont and our partners, we champion cultural projects, artists, and initiatives that raise awareness of environmental issues through senses and emotions.
Convinced that exemplarity unites human development and environmental responsibility, our inclusive and gender-balanced culture values every talent, while our climate strategy supports eco-designed infrastructures and an optimized supply chain.
Creating more
sustainable products
For Valmont, nature is much more than an inspiration: it is the very essence of our creations.
Rigorous selection of ingredients from responsible sources, formulas combining naturalness and efficacy, eco-design conceived to minimize our footprint... Each choice reflects our commitment to sustainable and authentic luxury, without compromising on the excellence that built our reputation.
Our formulas naturalness
Our skincare formulas incorporate an average of 85% ingredients of natural origin, certified to ISO 16128 standard. A requirement based in particular on the use of plant-based actives with unique cosmetic and organoleptic properties, sourced from all parts of plants – flowers, leaves, roots – and enriched by treasures from the hive, such as honey, propolis, and royal jelly. We prioritize eco-conscious extraction processes, such as Ecocert-certified lipophilic extraction, while exploring biotechnology innovations to help preserve natural resources. An approach where each ingredient is selected to offer your skin the best of nature, without any compromise on efficacy.
Our responsible sourcing
Our vision of responsible sourcing is based on local, sustainable, and ethical partnerships, with an emphasis on European partnerships to limit our carbon footprint.
Women and men whose shared values and passion engage us in a long-term relationship. Among them, three emblematic collaborations carry our commitments.
FLORE-ALPE BOTANICAL GARDEN: passion serving mountain vegetation
Because we share the love of Swiss nature and the desire to reveal all its richness to as many people as possible, we have been collaborating since 2025 – the year celebrating Valmont's 40th anniversary – with the Flore-Alpe Botanical Garden. Located in Champex-Lac, in the heart of the Valais region, the Flore-Alpe Botanical Garden preserves more than 4,000 plant species, half of them being native to the Swiss Alps. This high-altitude garden, dedicated to conservation and exhibition of the key phyto-alpine plants found in Valmont’s skincare creations – sea buckthorn, echinacea, and rosa moschata.
This space, open to all, offers a didactic trail punctuated by informative panels on the selected plants, inviting visitors to a bucolic discovery of the ties between nature and skincare. The Valmont plants sublimated in this exceptional conservatory are grown in the Valais, on production sites at various altitudes, allowing optimum exploitation of the diversity of Swiss soils, while preserving local know-how.
FONDATION ARCHE DES ABEILLES: passion serving bee preservation
Our historic collaboration with Stéphanie Vuadens, Geneva-based beekeeper and founder of the Fondation Arche des Abeilles, is above all a story of connection and shared values. Her contagious passion for bees and her unwavering commitment to their preservation naturally echoed our vision of responsible and authentic sourcing. We sponsor hives in Switzerland under l'Elixir des Glaciers by Valmont brand, one of whose treasures, honey, is used in our Essence of Bees range.
Under Stéphanie’s expert guidance, this collaboration is built on bee-friendly beekeeping practices that honor the natural rhythms of the hive. Her philosophy focuses on minimizing human intervention to preserve the hive’s innate intelligence. Every apiary is carefully chosen in protected environments, ensuring both exceptional hive-derived ingredients and the well-being of the colonies. This approach also extends to actively supporting local beekeepers, fostering a community dedicated to the long-term preservation of beekeeping heritage.
FERME DE NEUVIC : passion serving responsible aquaculture
In France, near Bordeaux, our partnership with Ferme de Neuvic guarantees an ethical supply of sturgeon DNA, a key ingredient in our Essence of Gold Sturgeon collection. Certified B-Corp since 2023, this farm upholds the strictest standards in responsible aquaculture.
Led by Laurent Deverlanges, a dedicated team works every day to cultivate excellence in aquaculture, placing respect for life at the heart of their priorities. Their approach embodies this vision through meticulously managed water resources, the result of years of expertise and innovation. The well-being of sturgeons is a constant focus, with farming conditions that respect their natural rhythms. This passion for excellence is reflected in the rigorous quality control at every stage, ensuring the highest standard of DNA extracts used in our skincare products.
Our eco-designed packaging
Because eco-design is self-evident for us, we have structured our approach around three fundamental principles, significantly reducing our environmental impact while preserving the unique prestige experience that defines our brand.
RECYCLE - Selection of sustainable materials
Our 100% recyclable glass bottles allow a 50% reduction in CO₂ emissions. The mono-material design of our plastic components ensures their total recyclability, while our FSC-certified cardboard packaging guarantees responsible and sustainable forest management.
REDUCE - Optimizing materials
In 2024, we reduced our paper consumption by 25%, eliminated plastic spatulas – thus avoiding
700 kg of polystyrene waste per year – and redesigned the dimensions of our packaging. A global approach that demonstrates our willingness to question and constantly improve our practices.
REUSE - Reinventing the beauty experience
In our La Maison Valmont boutiques, our refill stations exclusively dedicated to Storie Veneziane perfumes pave the way for a new way of consuming luxury. Our cases are also designed for a second life, transforming in turn into true works of art, decorative objects, and refined jewelry boxes, thus combining sustainability and creativity.
Making a positive impact on society
For us, excellence only makes sense if it contributes to a more beautiful and united world.
Through cultural, artistic, and solidarity initiatives, we support those who promote creativity, expertise, and values of transmission. A holistic vision that gives meaning to each of our actions.
Supporting the arts
Contemporary art comes to life in a unique way through Fondation Valmont, where each exhibition raises public awareness of contemporary issues, while celebrating beauty in all its forms. Its cradle, Palazzo Bonvicini in Venice, becomes the theater of a dialogue between creation and societal issues, aesthetics and engagement, where emerging and recognized artists share their vision of the world. This artistic approach inspires our international and traveling exhibitions, like The Elegant Symmetry of the Gorilla in which Ivo's modular sculptures, composed of assembled cardboard pieces, illustrate how art and
eco-consciousness can merge in perfect harmony.
Supporting craftsmanship
Preserving and promoting exceptional savoir-faire has been at the heart of our mission since the very beginning. In Murano, this passion takes shape through our collaborations with master glassmakers such as Leonardo Cimolin, whose talent elevates the masks on our Storie Veneziane bottles. Every piece we create tells a story that is authentic and deeply considered—from Aristide Najean’s creations for Blue Odyssey to the ancient mosaics of Orsoni Venezia 1888 for La Quintessence des Glaciers.
From art foundry to the delicate work of Jura wood, we also call upon other precious savoir-faire for our collaborations, enriching our vision of responsible luxury where craftsmanship is reinvented in a new light.
Local sustainable projects
Our Résidences Valmont, much more than havens of peace, are for us the opportunity to actively engage in environmental protection initiatives and the development of sustainable projects. Each develops initiatives that are designed to resonate with their setting:
HYDRA: a commitment to ocean preservation
The island of Hydra is the theater of our ambitious underwater cleaning program, conducted in collaboration with local divers and associations. An initiative that raises awareness about marine pollution and aims to preserve Mediterranean ecosystems, complemented by a strict zero-plastic policy in our Villa Valentine Résidence.
VERBIER: local innovation serving eco-responsibility
In Verbier, our partnership with First Track Lab, specialist in eco-designed skis, is part of a pioneering approach to innovation and respect for natural resources, rethinking the environmental impact of sports equipment.
VENICE: restoring natural and cultural heritage
In Venice, we actively contribute to the In Venetia Hortus Redemptoris project, dedicated to restoring the Giardini del Redentore, a 16th-century historic garden adjacent to the majestic Redentore church on the island of Giudecca. In this natural setting, we have, for example, installed hives to support biodiversity and pollination of this iconic place.
At Palazzo Bonvicini, headquarters of Fondation Valmont, our initiatives have already helped avoid the use of 17.5 kg of plastic in one year, thanks to the elimination of plastic bottles.
Local philanthropy
Supporting initiatives with a direct and measurable impact on local communities is essential to us, reason why our philanthropic commitments weave a global network of solidarity, each responding to specific challenges:
• We strengthen water conservation efforts in the United States with One Drop for the Planet.
• We support the bee ecosystem in Europe and the Middle East with BeeLife and Beekeepers Foundation.
• We support children experiencing hardships in Asia with Kids Earth Fund.
This dynamic embodies our conviction: a responsible company must actively contribute to the well-being of its communities, while preserving resources for future generations.
Becoming
a model company
Excellence cannot exist without leading by example.
This conviction drives us every day to rethink our practices, empower our teams, and protect biodiversity. Our new logistics site in Conthey, set to open in 2025, embodies this integrated approach: eco-designed infrastructure, sustainable mobility, and energy efficiency. Strategic choices that demonstrate our commitment to building a responsible company, one that inspires change while remaining true to our family values and pursuit of excellence.
Human resources policy
Our human resources policy is based on strong values of inclusion and talent development. The diversity that makes up our teams – 69%* women and an intergenerational richness from 18 to over 55 years* – is no coincidence: it reflects our belief that excellence is born from the fusion of diverse experiences and perspectives.
This diversity fuels our creativity and strengthens our capacity for innovation. We foster a workplace where every talent can thrive, supported by training programs that combine expertise and personal development. Work-life balance is not just a concept; it is a reality we build every day.
From carpooling incentives to installing electric charging stations, our actions for sustainable mobility reflect our commitment to shaping a more responsible future together.
Climate impact
We have reimagined our approach to transportation by creating Plaval, an innovative entity developed in partnership with our long-standing logistics partner, Planzer. This unique solution, which prioritizes rail over road, is based at our Conthey site, now transformed into a cutting-edge multimodal hub.
To reduce air freight—one of the main sources of CO₂ emissions in transportation—we are also expanding maritime transport through partnerships with industry leaders such as Nippon Express and DSV.
In Conthey, every aspect of our new site embodies our commitment:
• Solar panels that transform sunlight into clean energy
• New generation insulation that pushes the limits of efficiency
• A design that makes multimodality a daily reality
Our determination is bearing fruit: in 2024, we reduced our CO₂ emissions by 8.4% compared to 2023, with exceptional performances reaching 30% reduction in certain regions such as Shanghai or Switzerland. This is just the beginning: every day, we explore new ways to reduce our footprint even further.
Support for biodiversity
From the benefits of alpine plants to the treasures of the hive, each ingredient reminds us of our responsibility toward these precious ecosystems that nuture our creations.
Our commitment to saving bees perfectly illustrates this conviction. These essential pollinators, which contribute to the reproduction of more than 75% of food crops and maintain the balance of our natural ecosystems, face a worrying decline. Faced with this crucial issue, we have developed a unique approach with four major associations spread around the world to act at all stages of the bee ecosystem:
1. Educating the younger generation with the Fondation Arche des Abeilles, in Switzerland
2. Monitoring the environment to better preserve it, with BeeLife in Europe
3. Sharing beekeeping know-how through the Beekeepers Foundation, in the Middle East
4. Innovating by supporting research, with the Pollinator Partnership in North America.
