Rescue Spa Owner and Celebrity Aesthetician Danuta Mieloch sits down with Valmont's Donna and Kaily to celebrate the 20 Years of Elixir des Glaciers.
Donna:
Danuta thank you so much for taking the time today to meet with us. On behalf of Valmont, I would like to thank you for being a partner with us since 2004. How does it feel to be part of the Valmont family?
Danuta:
I first started using well… No like 20 years ago I discovered it on my trip into Switzerland. I stopped by this little apothecary in Zurich, and my skin was parched after flight and she recommended Renewing Pack and she gave me a sample of it and immediately after applying it I loved that.
Kaily:
So Danuta we're also celebrating the 20 year old the Elixir des Glaciers line. How would you describe the Elixir des Glaciers line?
Danuta:
When I think of Elixir des Glaciers I think radiance. That's first word that comes in mind when I discovered it first time. I was like wow! All of a sudden when you put on your skin the skin is glowing, radiant, hydrated, luxurious. I just love it.
Donna:
Do you have any insider tips about the elixir products of how to use them?
Danuta:
So I like to mix and match. So I’ll add to Elixir serum; I add a little bit of Regenera II to change it; to make that a little bit thicker for winter months or so forth.
Kaily:
Elixir product can you not live without?
Danuta:
Oh, you totally know I use Elixir foundation all the time. It's my daily foundation which is a serum which is very unusual and specific. So it's like skincare but it has a little bit of tint.
Donna:
And if I'm correct your Elixir foundation is Rosy Beige.
Danuta:
Yes exactly, Rosy Beige in New York! Here we are in New York!
Kaily:
So, Danuta, you are many celebrities go-to aesthetician. What first intrigued you about the profession of becoming an Aesthetician?
Danuta:
Skincare is my passion. I've been passionate and interested in skincare since I was a child. When the girls play with dolls, I had my little apothecary and I loved it.
Kaily:
And being from Poland, what is the main differences between the American and the European way of the skincare rituals?
Danuta:
I think growing up in Poland you know skincare is like practically an inheritance you learn from your grandmother or mother or sisters, or the tradition is a big important factor. And you know I can always hear my mom saying:
“If you don't cleanse your skin at night, you're ageing by seven days.”
So that kept me on my routine. I never went to bed with makeup on. I think European ways actually… We know we have to put in the work right? You know? It's a little bit more practical.
Donna:
What is your skincare philosophy and the quote that's in your spa?
Danuta:
Well, so “beautiful skin is a matter of choice, not chance.” And we all can make that choice to take care of our skin on a daily basis. And of course, Valmont is super helpful with that because the skincare is so comprehensive.
Kaily:
So are you ready for rapid fire questions?
Danuta:
Sure.
Q: Early Bird or night owl
A: Early Bird
Q: Dog or cat?
A: Both (laughs)
Q: cardio or yoga?
A: Actually both
Q: What is the last thing you read?
A: Um, news today. I usually have when I wake up in the morning. I have Financial Times.
Q: Three words that represent the Elixir line to you.
A: First word that comes to mind of course is Radiance. Hydration. Results. Glowy skin... I said four words sorry (laughs)
Q: What's the one skincare rule you can't break?
A: Well you have to cleanse your skin every night.
Q: And what's the skincare rule you break?
A: I mix and match products. Sorry (laughs). So I usually take my favourite products and I make my own concoction I'm my own mixologist
Donna:
And that's what makes you the esthetician that you are today. So thank you on behalf of Valmont for taking the time today. Thank you.
